How we research
Galwise exists because reliable Alpha-Gal information is hard to find. Here's how we put ours together, so you can decide how much to trust it.
Where our information comes from
We start with published medical research, public health guidance, and the lived experience of people who have Alpha-Gal Syndrome. We don't invent guidance. When something is uncertain, we say so plainly instead of guessing.
How products get reviewed
We check ingredient lists against a rubric of ingredients known to carry Alpha-Gal risk. A review tells you what we found on the label as of the date shown — not that a product is safe for you. Formulations change, and only you and your doctor know your triggers. Always check the current label.
Who reviews it
Every piece of guidance is read by a person before it goes live. Some product reports also draw on the Galwise community — people living with this condition who contribute what they've learned. We tell you when that's the case.
How we keep it current
Every guide and product report carries a date. When an ingredient or a recommendation changes, we re-check and update the date. If you ever spot something out of date, you can tell us, and it goes back into review.
What we will never do
We will never let a brand pay to change a safety result. We will never sell your information. We will never tell you something is safe when we can't be sure. Brands pay for the review process and for listings — never for the rating.
We're a guide, not a doctor. Your doctor is always the final word.
